Are there people who miss the ideal time to show their cool side and instead just look dumb to those around?Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00589181287043392179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439172438538785343.post-61387372903549253512009-04-14T13:29:00.000-05:002009-04-14T13:29:00.000-05:00We should definitely judge these people by the coo...We should definitely judge these people by the cool of their time period. We can look at past cool figures, but we cannot bring them into the present with their cool. But if this is the case then why do we still lionize them and try to be like them (a la Woody Allen in Play It Again, Sam)?fjohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06827891221669580321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439172438538785343.post-74500315754737496992009-04-01T15:12:00.000-05:002009-04-01T15:12:00.000-05:00It's very interesting what you said about how time...It's very interesting what you said about how time affects the coolness of a character. I think there are two different ideas of "time" that you can compare these characters in: their time or our time, as you said. I agree that Elvis probably wouldn't be called a king if he was getting his start in today's world, but as it happens, he came at the right time. Taking anything cool out of its time and placing it in the future would kill its coolness because it had already been cool. But place it in its time, and it IS cool. Should we judge an idea's coolness by its time or our time?Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06551631107760892914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3439172438538785343.post-36583731530642949882009-04-01T08:39:00.000-05:002009-04-01T08:39:00.000-05:00Obviously you don't believe "once cool, always coo...Obviously you don't believe "once cool, always cool." What causes these films to loose their cool? Is it just the passage of time? Or are their other factors?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07331961951316180787noreply@blogger.com
